Reduction of greenhouse gases
23.12.2011
The emissions of greenhouse gases will be reduced by 20% by 2020 even without the reduction of the number of emission permits, the director of the Heating Association of the Czech Republic (Teplárenské Sdružení ČR, TS), Martin Hájek, has told ČIA. According to Mr. Hájek, this reduction is already included into the number of allocated emission permits. Mr. Hájek says that the low price of emission permits will thus have no effect on the reduction of emissions. According to Hájek, reduction of the number of permits would raise their prices, which would in turn raise the prices of electricity and heat.
